Practice: No Practice for this one...

 

Tournament: Coming into this tournament, I was a little disappointed to see rain and storms were predicted for the morning. I knew this would screw up my game plan and play into some other anglers hands. My plan was to stay in the Bayou if it was raining at take off and throw a frog. Had a good morning of fun fishing throwing a frog back in mid-July in the same conditions, so I figured it might work again. Anyway, it was raining at take off, so in the Bayou I stayed. First bank I hit was a dud, so I started thinking maybe the fish just weren't firing. Then I hit a little stretch and had two keepers come up and grab my frog and I missed both of them... Have no clue how I missed them. At that time, I knew it wasn't going to be my day. Tried a switch to a buzzbait and never had a swirl... Finally, at about 9:15, I decided to go upriver. Got up there and at the 5th stop finally hook a keeeper... You guessed it, lost that fish too! Just one of those days. Anyway, still didn't have a keeper at 1:00 PM, but then finally hit a little stretch were I caught a few shorts and a couple keepers. Just before heading down, I lost a decent keeper. Could it get any worse? Well, I had about 10 minutes to fish when I got back down and decided to hit the little stretch where I had the blowups on a frog. Threw my frog in there and one blasts it. Lost that one too. Insult to injury...

Final Thoughts: Lack of execution cost me a respectable finish. Need to put this one behind me and get ready for the Solo Championship next week,,,
