In the Boat With...
Tournament: Get5Bass Summer Series
July 3rd, 2021
Lake Dardanelle
Angler: Frank Leone - 17th place - 5 bass - 7.10 pounds
Practice: No Practice for this one.
Tournament: With the deluge of water coming down from Oklahoma and Kansas, I figured this was going to be a toughy for me. When I got everyone taken off, I headed to a bridge to try to get a couple in the boat. It worked and I had 2 dinky keepers in the boat by 6:00 AM. I was hoping that the flow might have the fished positioned to bite on the main river, so off I went. Went over 4 hours without a keeper and finally connected with a couple more about 10:30 AM. Finally, at about 11:00 AM, I filled out my limit. Best five around 6 pounds....Yuck!!!. Anyway, I tried to go offshore for about an hour and had nothing to show for it. Decided to head to a backwater and punch mats. On about my third flipped, I caught my biggest fish of the day, a chunky 2-pounder. I was hoping to go on a tear, but that didn't happen. My burger was grilled....
Keeper count:
2 keepers: Spro Fat Papa 55 SB: Denali Lithium 7' M CB; 14 pound Sunline Crank FC
2 keepers: Leone's Toad Jig: Denali Lithium 7'4 MH; 16 pounds Sunline Sniper Fc
1 keepers: Spro Fat John 60 SB - Denali Lithium 7' MH CB; 16 pound Sunline Crank FC

Final Thoughts: Another rough one. I figured the changing conditions would likely due me in, and I was right.
See ya' on the flip side...
