In the Boat with Get5Bass: Bass Cat Owner's Invitational - Norfork Lake
                                              Jeremy Risley/Frank Leone

Practice:

Jeremy hit the water for practice on Thursday. He found fish hitting topwater
baits, Zoom Flukes, and Carolina rigged Zoom Baby Brush Hogs in two
locations. Although not overly excited about his practice, Jeremy was
confident we could go out and catch a few keepers.

Tournament:

We arrived at the marina for livewell check at 6:00 AM, and made our way
through the maze of Bass Cat boats. It was really cool to check out all of the
different types of Bass Cats and different year models! Anyway, our number
was finally called and we made our way out to find some Norfork bass in
Jeremy's Sabre. When we arrived at his first spot, he had a disgusted look on
his face. "Those guys are sitting right on the spot" he said in a disappointed
tone. We fished around the area for about a half hour, watching bass chase
bait all around us (of course they wanted the real thing!) From there we headed
to a main lake point, where we landed our first keeper of the day on a Reaction
Innovations Vixen (bone). After catching a couple more shorts, we headed
down the lake to another point. I proceeded to lose a good smallmouth on the
Vixen, and our day went down hill from there. A little later, Jeremy added a
good spotted bass, but that was it - 2 bass for 3.03 pounds. Day 2 was worse.
We concentrated on the lower end of the lake near the dam, and only caught a
few shorts. Finally, about 1:00 PM, Jeremy caught our only keeper of the day
on a Carolina-rigged Zoom Baby Brush Hog (Watermelon). Doesn't get much
tougher than that!!

See ya' on the flip side,

Frank
