Dianna Clark Takes Commanding Lead in Women's
          Bassmaster Tournament on Lake Dardanelle

Dianna Clark widened her lead today at the Women's Bassmaster
tournament on Lake Dardanelle

Blazing hot temperatures and high humidity had the angler's "sweating it out"
today, on Lake Dardanelle. The bass remained uncooperative for most, and
none of the anglers brought in a limit. Dianna Clark of Bumpus Mills,
Tennessee took a commanding lead by sacking three bass that tipped the
scales at 9 pounds 8 ounces. Her bag included the big bass of the day, a 5-14
"gorilla". Dianna's two day total of 23-13 leaves her 9 pounds ahead of her
closest competitor going into tomorrows final round.

Here are the 6 Pro's who will be fishing tomorrow:

"I feel fortunate to be fishing
tomorrow" - "It's been really tough
out there", said Lucy Mize of Ben
Lomond, Arkansas. Lucy only
brought one bass to the scales on day
2, but survived to fish day 3. She has
been catching her fish around deep
structure, but today caught mostly
short fish. Lucy said that she
was going to change up tomorrow and
go to some fish she found in practice
that bit early. She'll have to make up                                    Lucy Mize
over ten pounds tomorrow, but told me that
"stranger things have happened"

4th  - Kimberlee Striker - "Just going fishing"

Kimberlee has been catching her
fish in the Illinois Bayou on a variety
of different baits. The key to her
"junk fishing" pattern has been
her slow pace and lots of
concentration. Her plan for tomorrow
is to "Just go fishing and have fun"
Sounds like a good plan to me!

Dianna Clark Leads Women's Bassmaster Event on
            Lake Dardanelle

Dianna Clark of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee was the only angler
to "Get 5" today on Dardanelle, took the day-one lead with 5 Bass
weighing 14 pounds, 5 ounces.

Day one of the Women's Bassmaster Tour event on Lake Dardanelle started
off foggy and cloudy. Perfect conditions for fishing right?  - WRONG!
Ninety-five boaters weighed exactly 95 fish today, and only one limit was
brought to the scales. Lack of current, hot water temperatures, and an influx of
vegetation has the lake fishing extremely tough right now, but hopefully things
will change tomorrow and the ladies will bring more bass to the scales. Here's
a look at the top 5 boaters
from day one (click on image to enlarge):

"The first day of the tournament was much better than practice", said Walker, who is
currently in 6th place with 8-06. Linda said that practice was very discouraging, but
she believed the recent rain, cooler temperatures, and clouds this morning helped
her catch fish "all day long". Although she had one good keeper break off this
morning,  Linda
was very satisfied with her day, and is looking forward to tomorrow.

37th - Joan Craig - London, Arkansas - 1 fish - 2-01: Hoping to
Improve

Joan said she found two concentrations of fish during practice, but could only catch
short fish from each location. She said the fish are still there, and she may "Pound
both areas to death" tomorrow. Although she is in 37th place, she believes that if her
fish bite, she may still be able to make the top 6 cut.
