Jerry Williams Wins Wal-Mart BFL on Lake Dardanelle

The Wal-Mart BFL visited Lake Dardanelle this weekend for it's 4th stop
on the 2008 Arkie Divison Schedule. With the heavy rains this year it has
the lake looking dirty, back to vintage Dardanelle colors. But the fishing
was anything but vintage. For those who got on the fish they really got
some fish, but there were others who did not fair so well on this day.
Only 13 limits were crossed the scales on the Boater side and 5 on the
Co-angler side. Jerry Williams ended up taking the top spot today with
17.12lbs. With only one tournament left it looks to be quite a battle for
the top 40. The next tournament will be on Lake Dardanelle in
September.
1st Place 17.12lbs - Jerry Williams
He ran to a spot up river only to find Greg Ault sitting on his starting
spot, so he moved to another just up from there. It proved to be fate
because as soon as he pullled in to the hole he started catching fish on
a spinnerbait. Within an hour he had a limit and was culling. After fishing
there, he ran back down to his original spot to cull up with some bigger
fish. Greg was stilll there but he did not have any fish. Jerry managed to
cull a few more fish to give him his final weight and the win today.
2nd Place 17.11lbs - Jason Millsap
He caught all his fish on a buzzbait and jig all around the lake. It was a
great day for him and second good finish on dardanelle this year.
3rd Place 16.04lbs - Donald Vining
Donald actually had the day's big sack but with a penalty for being late
he got bumped down to third. He was fortunate to only have a 2lb
penalty as his boat broke down on the way in. Another angler was nice
enough to give him a lift back in, saving his day. Donald commented that
he caught his fish on a variety of baits and had a fun day on the water.
