Mark Hensiek Wins Wal-Mart BFL on Lake Dardanelle
Mark Hensiek Wins on Lake Dardanelle

161 Boats fished saturday for the fourth stop in Arkie Division of BFL.
Everyone is still trying to qualify for the Regional and Dardanelle is
a key tournament to get in position for the top 40. As the anglers took off
at 6am the partly cloudy skies gave the anglers a hope of encouragement
for a good morning bite. For most it was a fair morning and for a few people
it really paid off. The lake fished tough for this time of year and up until the
tournament it seemed likely that a 20lb sack would be the mark for the
win. It ended with Mark Hensiek bringing in 18lbs 13oz to take home first
place and a lot of other anglers trying to figure out what happened to their
fish.
Here is how the top five caught theirs.
1st Place - Mark Hensiek - 18.13lbs
Mark relied on the jig bite out of the grass. He had about 10-12 spots
he fished for the day and it took all day to get his best 5.
2nd Place - Brandon Lee - 17.8lbs
2nd place: Brandon Lee
Brandon caught all his fish in 30 minutes about mid day. He just hit a
hole at the right time and it produced big. All his fish were caught on a
jig. Along with his second place check he was also awarded the Ranger
Cup money for being the top finisher in a ranger boat. (This is Brandon's
second big finish on Lake Dardanelle this year)
3rd Place (tie) - Greg Ault & David Davis - 16.15lbs
David Davis Greg Ault
Greg had his limit by 7:15 and culled all day. He was fishing a jig and
declined to tell where he was fishing because he was fishing Trader
Bill's the next day. David caught his fish on a Berkely power worm in the
main lake area.
5th Place - Joey Fisher - 16.5lbs
5th - Joey Fisher
Joey caught his fish on a Storm ChugBug early in the morning and had his
limit by 7:10.
1st place Co-Angler - Kenny Laxon - 17.2lbs
Kenny was fished with David Davis and threw a Berkely Power Worm.
