Ryan Guthrie Wins the BFL Tournament on DeGray Lake
Ryan Guthrie Wins on DeGray Lake!!!
Story by Terrance Narveson
The second Arkie Division BFL Tournament was on Degray Lake this weekend and Ryan "Chicken Wing" Guthrie took the win with 18.04lbs. The bite was tough for most, but Ryan and a handful of others managed to figure out the bite and capitalize on the tough conditions. Only 12 limits were brought in on the boater side and 3 for the co-anglers. Degray may have cooled down from the last few weeks but it still had enough juice for the winners this weekend.
1st Place Boater 18.04lbs Ryan Guthrie was honed in for the win this weekend and even mentioned to me that he almost didn't practice on Friday because he knew what to do. All his fish came off an Excalibur XR75 in Rayburn Red and he was fishing in the State Park Area. We have a video that has Ryan explaining his day on the water. To watch the video, Click Here
1st Place Co-angler tie 11.06lbs Randy Peek and Paul McCullough They managed to get a limit on the day that a limit was tough. Not only that but a tie for first place is even more rare. Both guys caught the bulk of their fish on rattletraps but Paul managed to get the days Big Bass as well.
