Huey Applegate Wins the BFL on Lake Ouachita
Huey Applegate Wins on Lake Ouachita!!!

The Arkie Division BFL on Lake Ouachita this weekend was a battle of who
could find biting fish. The bite on Ouachita was brutal to say the least and
left everyone bewildered at the end of the day. It was Huey Applegate's day
to win and a good way to start the season with a solid limit and a big pay day.
Here's how the top 3 anglers caught their fish:
1st - Huey Applegate - 14.12lbs
He was fishing down lake around the main lake points and grass focusing on
the outside edge. He was throwing a rattle trap and a jig to get his fish.
2nd - Dennis Bean - 13.06lbs
A jerkbait and a 7/16 Jewel Eakins' Jig were his main baits for his fish
today. It was the Black/Blue Jewel Eakins jig that did most of the work for
him. Dennis was fishing in the inside of the grass line in the lower lake area.
3rd - Mike Morton - 12.14lbs
Fishing a spinnerbait slow around main lake islands is how Mike caught his
fish and he only had 5 bites all day.
1st Place Co-Angler - Evan Webster - 11.01lbs
Evan was fishing with Mike Morton doing the same thing. Dragging a
spinnerbait around the islands.
