Mike Jolly (left) and Billy Albert (middle) celebrate their $5,000 victory in
Vince Miller's (right) Super Team Tournament held Sunday on LakeDardanelle.
Billy Albert and Mike Jolly brought 5 bass weighing 20.32 pounds to the scales
Sunday to top the 62 boat field fishing Vince Miller's Super Team Tournament on
Lake Dardanelle. The weather was hot and humid but the fishing was even hotter for
the top teams fishing this week's featured tournament. Here's how the top teams
caught their fish:
1st place - Billy Albert/Mike Jolly - 5 bass - 20.32 pounds

Billy and Mike credited several different lures and techniques with helping them
bring in the victory. Billy said they fished pads until about 10:30 am with topwater
frogs and Quiverbaits (made by Burrhead Lures, similar to a chatterbait). When the
pad bite died, they moved to main lake creek channel drops where they fished
Carolina-rigs and crankbaits. They landed 12 keeper fish throughout the day, most
of which were caught on the lower end of the Lake.
2nd place - Brandon Rhoden and Duke Gunnell - 5 bass - 17.35 pounds
Rhoden and Gunnell burned 40
gallons of gas and used a "run
and gun" philosophy to help them
take the 2nd place prize. The
majority of their fish were caught
around pads on a white SPRO
Bronzeye Frog, although they
caught their last good keeper
from a deep water brushpile.
Their efforts were worth
$1,100.00.
Duke Gunnel and Brandon Rhoden
3rd place - Ronald Boatwright/Brent Ward - 5 bass - 16.81 pounds
Ward and Boatwright reported catching fish "All
day long". They also used a "run and gun"
philosophy, using topwater baits and jigs to catch
10 - 15 keepers and take home the third place prize.
