“This Week in Bass Fishing” Presented by Bass Mafia Tackle

02/17/11

Column by Frank Leone

Man, I'm pumped! The Classic is one day away. This event is always the
funnest to follow and watch on T.V., although I'm a little disappointed that
B.A.S.S. is delaying the T.V. coverage for a week. Oh well, here are my
top 5 picks:

1st - Greg Hackney: I picked the "Hack Attack" in last week's column
and I'm not backing off. He's got a lot of experience on the Delta and has
won big events before. It's his time.............

2nd - Aaron Martens: I haven't seen Aaron's name pop up on many of the
pundit's lists, but it's another second at the Classic for Martens.......

3rd - Andy Montgomery: Andy who? Montgomery is one of the 3 or 4 big
sticks migrating from the FLW to the Elite Series this year. This guy might
be the best caster I have seen....Look for him to make some noise this
year.....

4th - Brandon Palaniuk: Another long shot, but this is a gut pick. He could
be the sport's next superstar......

5th - KVD: I couldn't pick a top 5 for the Classic and leave "Kong" out.

Big Bite Baits is introducing the YoDaddy at the Classic (see article
below). The YoDaddy was designed by Russ Lane and is the latest in a line
of signature baits designed by Elite Series Pro's. The YoDaddy joins the
Fighting Frog (Designed by Dean Rojas), the Cane Stick (Rojas), the
Sugar Cane Worm (Rojas), the Cane Thumper (Rojas),  The Squirrel Tail
Worm (Jeff Kriet), the Flying Squirrel (Kriet), The Kriet Kreature, The
Kriet Tail Worm, and the Kriet Tail Lizard in Big Bites ever expanding
lineup of soft plastics. Big Bite products will soon be hitting the shelves at
Bass Mafia Tackle, so check them out at 3005 West Parkway in
Russellville.
