The duo of Ryan Shuffield and John Harless topped 90 teams fishing Trader Bill's Team Trail this Sunday on Lake Hamilton. The weather was cold, dark, and gloomy - but the sun did shine at the weigh-in, enough to illuminate Shuffield and Harless' stringer, which inluded the days big bass - a 8.26 pound "hawg". Here's how the top 5 teams caught their fish:
1st - Ryan Shuffield and John Harness - 5 bass - 16.12 pounds
Ryan and John only caught 5 keepers all day - but they were the right 5. They concentrated their efforts on the lower end of Hamilton, where they threw green pumpkin Stanley jigs to catch their fish. Their sack was anchored by an 8-pounder, which they landed at 11:00 AM. Ryan Shuffield with the day's big bass - a 8.26 pound "Hawg"
2nd - Duke Gunnell and Todd Graves - 5 bass - 14.97 pounds
Duke and Todd caught one shallow crankbait fish early, but spent the majority of their day probing deep structure (road beds and channel drops) with jigs. Don't worry, the fish in Todd's hand didn't count!

3rd - Tim Nesterenko and Bryce Miner - 5 bass - 12.70 pounds
Tim and Bryce started their day throwing Rogues to fish suspended in deep water. They caught their first two keepers on the Rogue, but changed their pattern mid-day. They filled out their limit with fish caught in the shallows on Rat-L-Traps. Looks like a good switch to me!

4th - Bryan Austin and Jim Burke - 5 bass - 11.06 pounds
Bryan and Jim commented that the early bite was very good but slacked off quickly. They concentrated their efforts on the upper end of Hamilton, where they fished jigs in 25 - 35 ft. of water.

5th - Larry Ford and Ricky Leonard - 5 bass - 11.01 pounds
Larry and Ricky had a great day on the water and landed over 20 keepers. They fished the lower and middle sections of Hamilton and caught their fish on jerkbaits.
