Justin Lancaster Wins the TBF Central Division Championship
on Lake Dardanelle

Justin Lancaster Wins on Lake Dardanelle!!!

Story by Terrance Narveson

Justin Lancaster won the TBF Regional Championship this last week on
LakeDardanelle beating out 96 other anglers all competing as individuals
and as a state team for the top prizes. The top two individuals from each
state go on to the nationals. Justins 30.03lb weight for 3 days was enough to
take the win and the top Arkansas spot. Shawn Gordon finished in second
for Arkansas with 24lbs for the 3 days. I got a chance to talk to Justin and
Shawn about their winning strategies.

Justin Lancaster
He was running up the river throwing a frog and a swimbait. The first day he
caught 14 keepers and the second day 8. His final day he only had 1 keeper
and it was caught on a square bill crankbait.

Shawn Gordon
He was up river some of the time and down others. It was a mixed approach
for him but the YUM Wolly Hawg and Bomber square bill were his main
weapons.

Justin Lancaster and Shawn Gordon will represent Arkansas at the TBF
National Championship

Both anglers as well as everyone else struggled to find keeper bites at some
point of the tournament but they are seasoned and were able to adjust to
falling water and rising water to get their fish. Congratulations to Justin
Lancaster and Shawn Gordon as they move on the the National
Championship and an opportunity the go to the All-American.

The Second Place Angler Donny Autry from TX. talked with me for a minute
to describe his experience on the lake this week as well. He was fishing the
grass throwing a Zoom trick worm in Red Bug color pegging the weight. It
was a slow process but that is how the fish wanted it.
