Kevin Gibson Wins the TBF State Championship on Lake

The TBF State Tournament had their first day cancelled due to high
winds on friday so this reduced the tournament to a one day shootout.
Kevin Gibson ended the day on top and will lead the team to the
Regional in June. Fishing was extremely tough for the anglers today
and the weights proved to be less then stellar. Only two limits were
brought in today and most anglers struggled to bring in any fish. The
top twelve anglers from today have qualified for the TBF Regional to be
held in June on Lake Dardanelle.
Here is what our top three did today to catch their fish.
1st Place 15.00lbs
Kevin Gibson
He stayed on the lower end of the lake and caught three of his keepers
on a jig and another on a rattletrap. It was not until later in the day that
he caught his fifth fish on a stickbait. Mainly he was staying around a
deeper bank and grass.
2nd Place 14.62lbs
Jeff Curtis
He started up the lake but with nothing in the well he came back down
and proceeded to catch his limit out of the grass throwing a texas
rigged lizard.
3rd Place 11.77lbs
Justin Lancaster
Justin also made the run up the river but he waited too long to come
back down. He was throwing a jig in the grass to catch his fish but time
ran out before he could get his limit.
