Robert Spears and Kyle Henderson Win the Sherwood Bass Club

August 15th was the next to last regular season Sherwood Bass Club
tournament for 2009. With quiet a few teams still battling for the “ Team of
the Year “ everyone was excited about this tournament even though fishing
on the river has been tough this summer and with the temps to be in the mid-
90’s everyone went into the event figuring nothing would have changed.
And at the end of the day it proved to be a very tough day as only 2 teams
out of 44 weighted in a 5-fish limit. The team of Robert Spears and Kyle
Henderson found the right pattern and location of the fish to bring home 1st
place with a weight of 11.06 lbs and a pay day of $792.
Listed below are the top 3 team results and patterns plus the remaining top
10 weights.
1st Place: Robert Spears/Kyle Henderson said they used a variety of baits
to catch their fish. They used topwater early and then switched to
crankbaits and C-rigs balance of day. They stayed in the Tar Camp pool to
catch their fish.
2nd Place: Sam Eastwood/Chip Hawkins said they locked down to Pine
Bluff to catch their 5 fish limit that weighted 10.47 lbs and won them
$484.00. They caught their fish on crankbaits and plastics.
3rd Place: Mike Sanders/Jacob Smith also stayed in the Tar Camp pool to
catch their fish. They won $308 using speed craws and worms around jetty
cuts.
4th Place: Jeremy Blaylock/David Babbitt - 6.01 lbs - $176
5th place: Billy Holt/Ken Adamson - 5.83 lbs - Free Entry
6th place: Jeff Grappe/Jeff Glymp - 5.40 lbs
7th place: Larry McDonald/Robby Chism - 5.06 lbs
8th place: Chuck Wisdom/Nathan Howell - 4.94 lbs
9th place : Greg Meador/Alan Petlak - 4.72 lbs
10th place: Doug/Scott Shrum - 3.94 lbs
Big bass of the day was 4.12 lbs caught by Jeremy Blaylock/David Babbitt -
