Steve Sibert/Sam Drennon Win Sherwood Bass Club Tournament on
DeGray Lake

Lake DeGray was the 1st tournament stop for the Sherwood Bass Club 2008 season. 36 teams
gathered at the spillway ramp in a pouring down rain to kick off the season. Most teams were
looking forward to a great day of fishing as rain usually helps the bite but with the weather doing
a roller coaster the past few weeks, no one really knew what was in store for them.
At the end of the day as the fisherman started returning to the ramp, you soon heard that the
bite was tough but some folks did find the fish and had the big bags to prove it. Out of 36 teams
only 6 teams were able to weigh in a 5-fish limit and 3 of the limits were good ones.
1st place honors went to Steve Sibert and Sam Drennon who had a 5 fish limit that weighted
19.71 lbs. They said they caught their fish on the main lake throwing rattle traps around grassy
points.
Second place went to Herb Skiles and Bruce Waters with a 5 fish limit that weighted 18.04 lbs.
They caught their fish throwing crankbaits and spinnerbaits also on the main lake.
Tony Romano and Mark McFadden took 3rd place with 4 fish that weighted 15.33 lbs and they
also had big bass honors with a Lake Degray toad that weighted 6.62 lbs. They caught their fish
throwing the new Berkley Hollow Body swimbait also on the main lake.

6. Doug Thompson/Hoyt Akins - 10.76 lbs
7. Ron Plate/Bob Tidball - 10.00 lbs
8. Jeremy Wills/Terry Rogers - 9.72 lbs
9. Hunter Baughman/Chuck Pritchard - 9.16 lbs
10. Steve Howard - 8.44 lbs.
