Harold Lincoln Wins Southwest City Bass Club Tournament on
Lake Hamilton

Story Provided by Chris Owen

Cold weather greeted the club on Lake Hamilton for the first tournament of
the year on January 21st.  The temperature was in the upper 40’s and there
was a slight breeze out of the NE at take off but as the day progressed the
wind picked up and the temp’s steadily dropped ending up around 40 at the
end of the derby.   The fishing had fallen of over what it had been doing the
last couple of weeks but 21 anglers braved the cold and caught 47 fish with a
total weight of 78.08 lbs.  Almost everybody caught a little something for the
livewell and there were 4 limits brought to the scales.

First Place – Harold Lincoln took first place with 4 fish and a winning weight
of 8.60 lbs.  Harold caught all of his fish on an A-Rig with in a ½ mile of the
ramp and had all his fish in the boat by 8:45.

Second Place – William Hope came in a close second with a 5 bass limit for
a weight of 8.10 lbs.  William fished in the lower lake area and used his very
own Spindarella and a shakey head to catch his weight.

Third Place – Jeff Stewart brought in a sack full of spot’s for third place with
a weight of 7.14 lbs.  Jeff fished channel bends on the far west end of the
lake and dragged a PB&J to catch his weight.

Fourth Place – Joe Poole grabbed the last place in the money with a mixed
bag of fish, 3 largemouths and 2 smallmouths weighing in at 6.50.  Joe
caught all his fish on a green pumpkin finesse worm.

Big Bass – Congrats to one of our newest members, Jeff Taylor, for
capturing big bass for the tournament and cashing his first check.  Jeff
caught his 3.18 lb Lake Hamilton monster early during the day on a series
300 Poe crankbait in carp color off a main lake point.
