William Hope Wins the Southwest City Bass Club Tournament
on Lake Maumelle

The club visited Lake Maumelle this month. Great weather with water
temperatures in the high 50’s and a nice breeze for most of the day turned
out to be good fishing for the club as several limits crossed the scale and
several big fish.
1st Place - William Hope - 15.86 pounds
William caught his fish on a Lucky Craft crankbaits and War Eagle
spinnerbaits in the wind.
2nd Place - Chris Whitem - 10.68 pounds
Chris commented that he caught his fish on crankbaits
3rd Place - Gayle Jones - 9.62 pounds
Gayle fished with William and threw the “Kitchen Sink” pattern at Lake
Maumelle by throwing Jerkbaits, Spinnerbaits, and Crankbaits. It seemed
like everything he picked up caught a fish and Gayle put a limit in the boat
early.
4th Place - Bob Howard - 8.65 pounds
Bob threw a spinnerbait in the grass to take the last spot in the money.
Big Bass - Gayle Jones - 5.43 pounds
Gayle caught this Lake Maumelle Monster on a jerkbait, in an area that
produced several 3 and 4 pound fish.
