David Hargett and Jack Wood Win the Sherwood Bass Club
Championship on the Arkansas River

It was a beautiful fall morning as 31 teams launched out of Maumelle Park on the
Arkansas River for the last event of the 2007 season for the Sherwood Bass Club.
All the teams were ready to hit the water as they knew the Sherwood Classic payout
would be a good one and they all wanted part of it. This year the payout would be over
$8000 and if you caught at least 1 fish you got a check.
But with a cold front moving thru and the river flow very slow it proved to be challenge for
some of the teams, but other teams were on fish and didn't let the challenges slow them
down. 8 limits were weighed-in at the end of the day and most of the anglers did
comment that they caught a lot of kentucky's but the fish were very short and thin as they
had to fight high flows this summer on the river.
The top two teams were David Hargtett/Jack Woods (13.80 lbs) and Gary Hubble (12.78)
Dave and Jack said they caught their fish on a variety of baits(frogs, buzzbaits,
spinnerbaits, and cranks)
Gary(Mr. Jig) said he caught all his fish on jigs.
