Ron Plate and Bob Tidball Win the Sherwood Bass Club Classic
on DeGray Lake
Ron Plate and Bob Tidball Win on DeGray Lake!!!
28 teams of the 34 teams that were eligible to fish the Sherwood Classic
showed up bright and early at Lake DeGray to fish for the season ending
payout. Everyone was excited to fish but all had heard the bite was off the
last few weeks and no one really knew what to expect. But with $8500 on
the line, everyone put there heads down and fished hard for 8 hours as even
a single fish was worth approximately $85 a pound in payout money. At the
end of the day the team of Ron Plate and Bob Tidball came out on top with a
weight of 7.90 lbs to claim the classic victory.
1st Place team of Ron Plate and Bob Tidball said they caught their good fish
early on buzzbaits and then used a jig later in the day to find more fish.
2nd Place
2nd place team of Rob Walker and David Johnston said they caught their
fish on topwater and C-rigs. They had a weight of 7.05 lbs
3rd place
3rd place team of Gary Hubble and Joey Korte said they caught fish all day
on a C-rig but couldn’t find the big fish they needed. They had a weight of
6.54 lbs
Balance of the Top Ten were:
4. Doug Thompson//Hoyt Atkins 6.39 lbs
5. Ward Gardner/Doug Swann 6.12 lbs
6. Jeff Stewart/Kyle Prater 5.97 lbs
7. Doug and Scott Shrum 5.94 lbs
8. Jim Alexander//Adrian Alexander 5.53 lbs
9. Landon Kendrick//Robert Becker 5.00 lbs
10. Jack Wood//David Hargett 4.29 lbs
Big bass of the day was caught by Jeff Stewart and Kyle Prater 4.27 lbs
The team of the Year was Jack Wood and David Hargett. Congratulations
you guys!
Our annual business meeting will be Nov 4th at H20 Sportz at 6 PM. If you
