Matt Greer and Kevin Thompson Win the Sherwood Bass
Club Tournament on Lake Hamilton

50 teams arrived bright and early Saturday March 21st for the second
Sherwood Bass Club tournament. Everyone was excited about fishing
but all the anglers had in the back of their minds how tough Lake
Hamilton had been the past couple of weeks with low tournament
weight results and the folks who had pre-fished said the practices had
been slow. But it was spring and fishing can change over a matter of
hours so everyone headed out with the hopes of big 5 fish limits
coming to the scales. But at the end of the day only 14 limits were
brought to the scales and most of the limits were the usual 5 fish 5 lb
weights except for the team of Matt Greer and Kevin Thompson who
found the fish and brought in a weight of 10.26 lbs including big bass of
the day at 4.44 lbs. Below are the top 3 winning ways and the top 10
total weights.
1st Place Matt Greer and Kevin Thompson said they caught their fish on
Jigs-Jerk baits and C-rigs. Their weight of 10.26 lbs won them $900 and
big bass of the day another $500. Not bad for a day’s fishing.
2 Place Tim Howard and Grey Morgan said they caught their fish on C-
rigs and swim worms, their weight 8.90 lbs won them $550
3rd Place Jeff Fureigh and Gary Cates caught their fish on C-rigs and
their weight 8.62 lbs earned them $350.
4th Grant Jordan/Lyle Landers 8.47 lbs
5. Doug/Scott Shrum 8.15 lbs
6. Ronnie Williams/Max Shelton 7.69 lbs
7. Doug Thompson/Hoyt Akins 7.49 lbs
8. Matt/John White 7.48 lbs
9. Jimmy House/Dale Johnson 7.19 lbs
10. Jarred/Josh Thompson 6.86 lbs
