QUAD STATE BASS CLUB: BUILDING ON A TRADITION

Metro Area Bass Club played host to the second Quad State Team
Tournament for the year. The tournament was held October 20-21, 2007 in
North Little Rock , Arkansas on the Arkansas River . 50 teams from
Arkansas , Louisiana , Missouri , Oklahoma , and Texas took part. Quad
State Team tournaments are held in the months of April and October. The
turnout continues to grow each time. But to appreciate where we are,
you have to know where we have come from. Quad State Bass Club was
established in 1993 by a group of avid, African American Bass anglers
who met at Lake Ray Hubbard in Dallas , Texas for the inaugural
tournament. Back then we were few in number but great in enthusiasm.
Although the organization started with an African American male
membership, all who have a passion for fishing are welcome. The club
has grown to include amateur anglers of all races and genders. Those
who take part do so for more than the cash payouts and the next "Big
Fish" story, they do so for the camaraderie and most importantly, to
give back to the community. Quad State Bass Club donates part of its
tournament fees to local charities in the communities in which
tournaments are held. The club also sponsors youth fishing rodeos in
member clubs' hometowns. Quad State is on the move and is a progressive
organization. Our members are ready for the next 14 years and beyond!!!
