Wilcox/Hold Win Plainview/Rover High School Senior Class Open on
Lake Dardanelle
Jonathan Wilcox and Chase Hold Win with 21.75 pounds!

The Plainview/Rover Senior Class held an open tournament Saturday on Lake Dardanelle to
help raise money for their class trip. The day started foggy and cleared up by mid day and the
temperatures warmed to 70. The warming trend we had recently has really turned the fish on,
and over half the field brought in limits. Jonathan Wilcox and partner Chase Hold took the
honors for the day with 21.75 lbs. Here how they caught their fish:
1st - Jonathan Wilcox/ Chase Hold – 5 bass - 21.75 lbs
Early morning fog forced Wilcox and Hold to stay on the lower lake. They caught their fish on
rogues. They caught fish all day, but really got excited when they boated three good keepers
in a row in about five minutes. They knew they had a good sack, but didn’t know if that would
be enough to take first place.
2nd - Rusty Allen/ Spencer Grace – 5 bass - 18.98 lbs
Rusty and Spencer had a fast start to their day and had high hopes to bring home the first
place check. As the day progressed they continued to catch fish, but they seemed to get
smaller. All of their fish came were caught on a jerkbait.
3rd - OJ Robinson/ Chris Yates – 5 bass - 18.16 lbs
They caught all their fish in 6-8 inches of water on beds with Lucky 13’s and crankbaits. They
also had the big bass for the day with a healthy 5.40 pound "toad". All their fish were caught
on the lower end of the lake.
Here is how the rest of the top ten finished:
4. Tony Vick/ Mike Baldwin – 17.74lbs
5. Jerry Watson/ John Farmer – 17.02lbs
6. Al Crenshaw/ Stan Bryant – 15.98lbs
7. Bob Powell/ Dustin Tanner – 15.44lbs
8. Jarrod Davis/ Bill Richie – 15.14lbs
9. Josh Jones/ Doug Powell – 13.24lbs
10. Wayne Smith/ Leanna Morrison – 13.16lbs
