Jackall Crankbaits have them "Seeing Red" again at Lake
Ouachita

Terrance nailed this keeper on a Jackall Muscle Deep 7+

Story by Frank Leone

It's that time of year again, time to get the red crankbaits out and head
to Lake Ouachita. I don't know what it is about red cranks this time of
year, I just know the bass eat them like they are going out of style!
Terrance and I recently headed to Lake Ouachita with our red crawfish
colored Jackall Muscle Deep Cranks to see if they were as hot as they
were last year. After about 20 minutes of fishing, we knew they were
once again the ticket! We started
out targeting channel swing banks
with well developed rock out -
croppings. As we made our way
down the first swing, Terrance
spotted a point with some wind
blowing on it. "Looks like a
perfect setup" he said. On his first
cast to the point, his rod loaded
up. We were both pumped to get
that first fish of the morning! As
Terrance boat flipped the bass into
the boat, I was surprised by what
I saw. After closer inspection,the
bass turned out to be a smallmouth.
This would not be a surprise if we were fishing Greers Ferry, but on
Lake Ouachita, it is a rare catch! Anyway, we continued fishing the
channel swing banks and picked up several more fish. Terrance even
picked up the Ouachita "trifecta", catching several largemouth and
spotted bass to go with his "smallie".  As I mentioned earlier, our
primary weapon on the day was the Jackall Muscle Deep 7+ in red
crawfish color. The Muscle 7+ is a compact bait that measures 2.3
inches long and weighs 1/2 oz.  This bait is small in size but casts like a
dart, which allows you better control for more accurate casts. All of the
baits in the Muscle Deep series have an enticing wobble and seem to
work great in cold water temperatures. Combined with 10 or 12-pound
Triple Fish X-rated line and a Dobyns 684 CB or 704CB, and you've got
the perfect set-up for cranking up a limit of bass!!!  To check out the
