Rattle This!!! Jackall's Lipless Crankbait Lineup
The Jackall Doozer Produces on Lake Ouachita!!!
Story by Frank Leone
Well, Spring has sprung. The trees are budding, the grass is turning green,
and the bass are biting lipless crankbaits!!! Jackall has two different models
of lipless crankbait, the humongous Doozer and the TN series. The Doozer is
obviously the larger of the two,
weighing in at 1 oz. and measuring
3.4-inches long. It was made with the
premise that bigger baits catch
bigger fish. The Doozer features a
high impact rattle sound. It definitely
has a different noise signature which
sets it apart from all other lipless
cranks. The Doozer is our choice for
fishing vegetation, as it can be ripped
out of the grass with ease. The TN
series comes in two sizes. The TN/70
weighs 5/8 oz. and measures 2.8-
inches in length. The TN/60 weighs
4/9 oz. and measures 2.4 inches in
length. The TN series features a tungsten metal weight on the outside of the
lip. This unique weighting system gives the TN series several advantages
over traditional lipless cranks. First,
this bait casts like a dream. The
TN/70 definitely will outcast any
other lipless crank out there. Second,
the tungsten lip allows the bait to be
fished at an extremely slow pace.
Last, but not least, the design gives
TN series a very unique action when
yo-yoed. The bait will go straight
nose down with the pump of a rod,
which produces violent strikes! I
found this out last week on Lake Ouachita. On two separate occasions, I
had good fish completely inhale the TN/70 with a pumping, yo-yo type
retrieve. The fish was hooked and so was I!
The Doozer is available in 8 fish
catching colors and the TN series is
available in 14 colors. To learn
