Ryan and Ashleigh Guthrie Win the 2010 MSSF Benefit Tournament on Lake Dardanelle

Ryan Guthrie and Ashleigh Guthrie topped 92 teams fishing this year's Michelle Short Benefit Tournament on Lake Dardanelle by catching 5 bass that tipped the scales at 20.75 pounds. This event keeps getting better, and this year $8,000 dollars was raised for the Michelle Short Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas. Here's how the top 5 teams caught their fish:
1st - Ryan and Ashleigh Guthrie - 5 bass - 20.75 pounds - $6,000.00
Ryan and Ashleigh started on the lower end, where they caught a couple of keepers on a buzzbait. Most of their damage was done on the upper end of the lake, where they hammered the fish on a custom made crankbait. 2nd - Kelly Coble and Lee Anderson - 5 bass - 16.86 pounds
Kelly and Lee concetrated their efforts around deep brushpiles and drops. Their fish were caught on plastic worms.

3rd place - Bill and Ruthie Burkett - 5 bass - 16.28 pounds
Bill and Ruthie caught their fish on topwater baits, plastic worms, and crankbaits. They reported catching their last keeper at 2:45 PM.

4th place - Greg Widner and Mason Walker - 5 bass - 15.94 pounds
Greg and Mason threw jigs and crankbaits on the lower end of Lake Dardanelle and in Pool 9. Their two biggest bass were caught on jigs.

5th place and Big Bass - Shawn Bates and Jonathan Dotson
Shawn and Johnathan were tighted lipped about their pattern. Their sack included the day's big bass, a 7.47 pound "incredible hulk" which earned them additional cash.
