Tony Nesterenko Wins Mr. Bass of Arkansas Tournament on DeGray Lake
Tony Nestereko wins with 15.92 pounds!!!
Tony Nesterko topped 87 anglers competing on the pro side of the Mr. Bass of Arkansas tournament this Sunday on DeGray Lake by catching 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.92 pounds. Spring has sprung on DeGray, and the event turned into a "limit fest". To say the bite was on would be an understatement, as a healthy 10-pound limit was only good for 40th place. Here's how the top three anglers caught their fish:
1st place - Tony Nesterenko - 5 bass - 15.92 pounds
Tony threw Carolina rigged lizards (green pumpkin), Wacky Worms, and Zoom trick worms to take the 1st place prize. He caught fish in all three sections of the lake (Upper, Middle, and Lower), and concentrated on the inside edge of the grass.

2nd place - Jamie Black - 5 bass - 15.72 pounds
Jamie caught most of his fish on the beds, where he threw a lizard to land his fish. He also threw a wacky worm (in between the beds), and caught one key fish on a Carolina-rigged Zoom Brush hog.

3rd place - Kevin Brown - 5 bass - 15.33 pounds
Kevin fished a Carolina- rigged lizard (green pumpkin) on the inside edge of the grass to catch his bass. The key to his day was to "slow way down", as the fish were fairly finicky.

1st place - Amateur Division - Larry Shea - 5 bass - 14.54 pounds
Larry dominated the amateur division and won by nearly 4 pounds. He fished with Danny Gwinn, and admitted that was the key to his victory. Larry's fish were caught on a Carolina-rigged lizard.
