Randy Allen and Wayne Dixon Win Midwest Sportsman
Tournament on Lake Dardanelle
Randy Allen and Wayne Dixon (not pictured) Win on Lake Dardanelle!!!
The duo of Wayne Dixon and Randy Allen topped 18 teams fishing the Midwest
Sportsman Tournament this Saturday on Lake Dardanelle by catching 5 bass that
tipped the scales at 16.99 pounds. Their bag also included the day's big bass, a 4.73
pounder. Here's how the top three teams caught their fish:
1st - Randy Allen and Wayne Dixon - 5 bass - 16.99 pounds - $570.00
Randy and Wayne fished "upriver" from the State Park to catch the winning
bag. They landed 4 of their keepers on a Norman DD22 crankbait and one
on a jig. Randy said that four of their keepers came off of one drop.
2nd - John Rudder and Mike Tracy - 5 bass - 14.35 pounds - $305.00
John and Mike fished the lower
section of Lake Dardanelle, where
they concentrated on shallow
areas near creek channel bends.
They threw Rick Clunn swimming
tubes to catch their fish.

3rd - Shawn Gordon and Zach King - 5 bass - 13.75 pounds - $165.00
Shawn and Zach fished the lower end of Dardanelle and caught their fish
around brushpiles on Bomber Crankbaits.

5th - Charlie Wilcutt - 5 bass - 13.18 pounds
