Shawn Gordon and Zach King Win Midwest Sportsman Team
Tournament on Lake Dardanelle

The dynamic duo of Shawn Gordon and Zach King topped 22 teams
fishing the Midwest Sportsman Team Tournament on Lake Dardanelle
by catching 5 bass that tipped the scales at 23.47 pounds. Their sack
was anchored by the day's big bass, a 6.88 pound dardanelle "gorilla".
The day was cold, dark and gloomy, but that didn't stop the anglers
from bringing in some quality sacks. Here is how the top 3 teams
caught their fish:
1st place - Shawn Gordon and Zach King - 23.47 pounds
Shawn and Zach had a great
day on the water, and they
landed 11 keepers. "The
morning bite was great, but
then we hit a lull after 9:00 AM -
but things picked up in the last
hour, and we were able to
cull two more times" said King.
Their fish were caught on 3/4 oz.
Arkansas Hawg Caller
spinnerbaits (Zach's Pickerel Zach King and the 6.88 "gorilla"
color) and 3/8 oz. black/blue
Cyclone jigs in the lower end of Dardanelle.
2nd place - Tray Huddleston and Dylan Hawkins - 20.08 pounds
Tray and Dylan also caught
their fish early. They had
their "5" by 9:30 AM. They
concentrated their efforts on
the lower end of Dardanelle,
and threw jerkbaits to catch
their fish. Their sack
included the day's second
largest bass, a 6.33 pound
Dardanelle "Toad".
Dylan Hawkins and Tray Huddleston
3rd place - Lance Adams and Kris Lott - 15.81 pounds
Lance and Kris reported
having a "slow day". They
didn't have a keeper in the
boat by 10:00 am, but were
able to put together a nice
sack before weigh-in. They
concentrated their efforts in
the mid-lake area of
Dardanelle, where they threw
Rogues to catch their fish.
