Steve Howard Wins the Mr. Bass of Arkansas Classic on
Norfork Lake
Steve Howard Wins the 2011 Classic on Norfork Lake!!!
Steve Howard topped 35 pro's who qualified to fish the 2011 Mr. Bass of
Arkansas Classic on Norfork Lake by catching 15 bass that weighed a
total of 39.78 pounds during the three day event. The fish are still in
transition on Norfork, but plenty of bass were caught and 6 pro's were
able to catch their 5-bass limit each day. Here's how the top 3 caught
their bass:
1st - Steve Howard - 15 bass - 39.78 pounds - Ranger/Mercury Combo
Steve fished the lower end of
Norfork, where he caught the
majority of his fish on a Jewel
Football Jig (3/4 oz. ; Green
Pumpkin Candy). Steve also
commented that he caught a
few keepers on the Alabama
rig. For his efforts, Steve
won a 19ft. Ranger Boat
powered by a 200 HP Mercury
Outboard.

2nd - Greg Carpenter - 15 bass - 38.76 pounds - $2,000.00
Greg caught his bass on
swimbaits attached to the
"Spinderella" rig created by Cody
Kemp. Greg commented that he
had to move to find his fish each
day, but once they were located
he would cull through multiple
keepers.

3rd - Jerry Williams - 15 bass - 34.62 pounds - $1,200.00
Jerry caught all of his bass on
a jigging spoon. He commented
that the fish moved a little
shallower on day 3, making them
easier to catch.

Kevin Crow Wins on Norfork Lake!!!
Kevin Crow topped the amateur field by catching 8 bass that weighed
15.71 pounds during the two day event. He threw wiggle wart crankbaits
to catch his bass. For his victory, Kevin took home a check worth $7,500.
