Tournament: Get5Bass Summer Series

Lake Dardanelle
Anglers: Frank Leone/Kevin Holmes
22nd place - 1 bass - 2.07 pounds
Practice: No practice but I did fish last weekend. I didn't like what I saw. I knew a tough day was
coming.......
Tournament Day: With no where to go, we headed to a shallow stretch in Dardanelle Bay that was
recommended to us. We threw frogs and I caught one 12-incher. A ways down the stretch and I
have a fish A-Bomb my frog and miss it. I don't know if it was a bass, bowfin, or gar, but it was a
good size fish for sure. The hit seemed almost too violent to be a bass but who knows. Anyway, the
rest of the day is really not worth writing about. We tried frogs in the pads, jigs and crankbaits
around rocks, and Carolina-rigged Big Bite soft plastics, crankbaits, and worms on the drops and
we landed a total of 4 more fish the rest of the day. It was ugly......
Keeper Count: Jewel Eakins Flip N' Jig (3/8 ounce; Missouri Craw): 1 keeper
Gear:
Jewel Jig: Lew's Tournament Reel (6.4:1), Dobyns Champion 704 C Rod, Sunline Sniper (16 pound)
Final Thoughts: Another bomb. I am completely lost right now on Dardanelle. I think I'm making it
harder than it is, because a lot of great stringers are being brought in. Back to the drawing board.....
