Louthian/Muse Take Day One Lead at the H&W Classic Tournament on Lake Dardanelle
Robert Louthian and Tammie Muse lead day one with 16.34 pounds
The 27 teams that qualified to fish the H&W Classic on Lake Dardanelle were greeted with ferocious thunderstorms that contained winds in excess of 50 mph today; but that didn't stop the fish from biting - as 16 teams brought their limit of 5 bass to the scales. The team of Robert Louthian and Tammie Muse took the day one lead by brining 5 bass to the scales that weighed 16.34 pounds. "We caught at least 19 keepers today" said Muse. "We just kept chunking and winding a 1/4 oz. spinnerbait - It was really a no brainer" added Muse. Tammie and Robert will definitely have to catch a good sack of fish tomorrow to maintain their lead, as several teams are within striking distance. Here is a look at the rest of the top 5:
2nd place - Steve Heflin/Jacob Wilson - 5 Bass - 15.11 pounds
3rd place - Paul Glover/James Stafford - 5 Bass - 14.55 pounds
Paul and James bag included the day's big bass, a 5.15 pound "mule" that was caught on the first cast of the day. "We are in the right position to make a run at winning tomorrow - but I think the post-frontal conditions will make the fishing tougher tomorrow" said Glover.
