Ethan Snyder and Jared Raymer Win the High School World Finals Championship on Lake Dardanelle
Ethan Snyder and Jared Rayner Win on Lake Dardanelle!!!
Story by Terrance Narveson
It was a brutal week of hot weather that lead up to the final day of fishing in the inaugural High School Fishing World Finals, but the top 7 teams battled it out on the Final day. The teams came from all around the country, and it was Ethan Snyder and Jared Raymer from Mead County High School in Tennessee that took the win with a 16lb 6oz, 5 fish limit. Placing second was the Dessert Bassbusters (Thomas Chambers and Brandon Koon) from North Canyon High School in Phoenix, Arizona. The top prize for winning the event was a $4000 scholarship to Bethal University. Here is how our teams caught their fish:
1st Place Champions
1st Place - 16lbs 6oz - Ethan Snyder/Jared Raymer
Ethan and Jared were fishing basically one location all day where they threw a Strike King Rage Shad all day. As the tournament progressed, they got dialed in to where the fish were hanging out and this helped them key on those areas during the final day of competition. 2nd Place - Thomas Chambers/Brandon Koon
2nd Place - 14lbs 8oz - Thomas Chambers/Brandon Koon
Thomas and Brandon brought some of their deep water skills from Arizona and applied them to Dardanelle. Drop Shots, Crankbaits, Carolina-rigs, and Jigs were used to catch their bass. Most of their fish were caught near the Nuclear Plant Intake area. To view Get5's Video with Thomas and Brandon, Click Here
3rd place - Sawyer Grace/Austen Cathcart
3rd Place - 12lbs 3oz - Sawyer Grace/Austen Cathcart
Sawyer and Austen fished a variety of techniques to get their fish, although their most productive bait was a black/blue jig. Most of their bass were caught from brushpiles and drops. To view Get5's Video with Sawyer and Austen, Click Here
