Patrick Chapman and Rusty Linares Win the Hamburg
High School EAST 2010 Buddy Bass Tournament on Lake
Chicot

                                                     1st Place

Story by Andy Case

This tournament has become an annual event as a fund raiser for the
Hamburg High School EAST Program.  From going to local vendors for
door prize donations and then getting up at 4:30 in the morning the
students work hard to make this event a success.  This year’s event,
happen to fall at a time period when the fish on Chicot are turning on.
18 boats entered up, and this is how the top three finishers did.
First place went to Patrick Chapman and Rusty Linares.  They ended the
day with 5 fish for 21.89 pounds a nice payday check of $240.00.  With a
few more upcoming tournaments on Chicot the first place team, decided
they would keep the fish catching strategies a secret…for now.

                                     Big Bass - A 10.10 pounder!!!

The second place finishers were Mr. Jeff Pearson and Mr. Chris Golden,
who had only 3 fish for 15.56.  However their sac did consist of the BIG
bass of the day…..a 10.01 lb Prehistoric GIANT!

Mr. Jeff told Get5, that they started on the North end and never left.  He
said he had caught a few fish on a tube and lost a few more.  His partner
was throwing a jig and struggling with only a large drum to account for
the day.  However at 2:30 his partner flips his jig to a lone tree and that’
s when FISHZILLA ate it up.  Well for Mr. Golden if you are only going to
catch one fish for the day, might as well make it a REAL big’un.

A local team, Mr. Daniel Clark and Mr. Tony White captured the 3rd place
finish with 12.82 pounds and payday check of $96.00.  Both Daniel and
Tony said it was pretty tough for them, however they managed to haul
out 5 fish by “banging the banks” on the North end with spinnerbaits
and brush hogs.  Daniel stated they ended the day with 8 or 10 bites, but
none would make a cull for them.
