Mike Andrus and Jason Wooten Win Greers Ferry Lake
Bassmasters Tournament on Lake Dardanelle
Mike Andrus and Jason Wooten crack a big sack to win on Lake Dardanelle!!!
Story by Terrance Narveson
Mike Andrus and Jason Wooten took the win on Dardanelle this Saturday
with 21.79lbs. This was the last qualifying tournament for Greersferry
Bassmasters Tournament Circuit. 56 boats came to fish for their final
chance to qualify for the championship to be held in December. The day
proved to be tough for most as the cooler weather has dropped the lake
temperature 10 degrees in the last week. 12 limits were weighed-in and alot
of people struggled to get their last keeper. Here is how the top three teams
caught their fish.
1st Place
Mike Andrus/Jason Wooten - 21.79lbs
Mike and Jason caught their fish on topwater baits all day. The main baits
they were throwing were Redneck Buzzbaits and frogs. In total they caught
15 keepers and lost a few big ones.
2nd Place
Charles Holloway/Scott Latimer - 15.70lbs
Scott and Charles fished in the lower lake and threw worms in the grass.
3rd Place
Joe Glover/Tim Marshall -15.45lbs
For Joe and Tim, it was a day of covering water. Most of their day was
spent on the lower end but they fished everywhere to get their 5. The lure of
choice was a Jig and a few fish came on frogs in the grass.
