55 boats fished the Greers Ferry Lake Bassmasters Tournament
Saturday and they found the fishing to be extremely tough following
the FLW Series Eastern Division tournament. With about a third of the
field bringing in a limit the ones that figured out how to catch them did
exceptionally good. There were not many places that the pros left
untouched, so executing on every bite was key. Here is how they
caught their fish.
First Place
Carl Davis/Royce Davis - 16.90lbs
Their bite was slow and they only caught the 5 they weighed in today.
Their first fish came on a trick worm early and their big fish came on a
Carolina rig around 10:30. The rest of their fish came within two hours
of weigh-in and they were caught on Carolina rigs as well.
2nd place: Chris Bates and Chris Isom
Second Place
Chris Bates/Chris Isom - 16.21lbs
They concentrated their efforts off shore throwing Carolina rigs. They
even got to fish alongside Larry Nixon and his entourage a few times
during the day.
Third place: Charles Holloway/Scott Latimer
Third Place
Charles Holloway/Scott Latimer - 14.93lbs
They literally camped out at the camp grounds around the marina all
day just going back and forth changing baits and they caught fish all
day long. They caught 14 keepers for the day.
