Shawn Gordon and Zach King Win the Get5Bass Winter Series
Championship on Lake Maumelle
Shawn Gordon and Zach King Win on Lake Maumelle!!!
Shawn Gordon and Zach King topped 20 teams fishing the Get5Bass Winter
Series Championship on Lake Maumelle by catching 5 bass that weighed
11.98 pounds. With the Championship Lake being changed from Norfork to
Maumelle on Wednesday, the teams had to scramble to figure out one of
the stingiest lake's in Central Arkansas. At stake was not only the
championship event, but the AOY battle for the coveted Mr. Bass of
Arkansas Entry Fees. The anglers were up to the challenge and three 5 bass
limits crossed the scales. Here's how the top 3 teams caught their fish:
1st - Shawn Gordon and Zach King - 5 bass - 11.98 pounds - $1,100.00
Shawn and Zach concentrated their efforts around deep banks, where they
threw jerkbaits (Smithwick Rogues, Excalibur, and Lucky Craft) to catch
their bass. They caught 10 keepers on the day.
2nd - Danny and Sharon Waldo - 4 bass - 10.77 pounds - $500.00
Danny and Sharon had a big lead in
the AOY race and had to finish 10th
or better in the Championship to
win the title. They were up to the
challenge and finished in convincing
fashion. They caught their fish
near deep structure on Fat Free
Shad crankbaits and Lucky Craft
Staysee Jerkbaits. Get5
