Kevin Brown and Cody Kemp Win on DeGray Lake !!!
Kevin Brown and Cody Kemp topped 26 teams fishing the final Get5Bass Winter Series Tournament in the Southern Division by catching 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.54 pounds. Fishing was fair and 7 limits crossed the scales. Here's how the top 3 teams caught their fish:
1st - Kevin Brown and Cody Kemp - 5 bass - 15.54 pounds - $820.00
Kevin and Cody started their day throwing a spoon to deep fish suspended in 40 - 60 foot of water. They caught a few keepers on the spoon, but the bigger fish were uncooperative. Mid-morning, they switched to a Jewel Football Jig (3/4 oz.;Green Gourd), and worked weed edges in 15 - 20 feet of water. This technique also produced a few keepers. When the wind picked up in the afternoon, they threw a rattletrap (1 oz.) and were able to upgrade their sack. They estimate that they caught between 15 and 17 keepers on the day.
2nd - Adam Wright and Don Vining - 5 bass - 14.99 pounds - $530.00
Adam and Don "Big Stick" Vining slow rolled a rattletrap in 5 - 10 foot of water to catch their bass. They caught 8 keepers on the day.
