Bill Brown and Terry Slavens Win on Greers Ferry Lake!!!
Story by Terrance Narveson
19 teams came out for the last Get5Bass Winter Series North Division Tournament. With Dardanelle iced up Greers Ferry was the backup lake and the anglers had a tough day on the water as Keepers were difficult to catch. Only 2 teams brought in a limit but the big fish prevailed as more then 4 teams had a fish 4lbs or bigger. It was the team of Larry Brown and Terry Slavens that took home top honors today with 14.08lbs and they were on them all day.
1st Place - Bill Brown/Terry Slavens - 5 bass - 14.08 pounds - $700.00
They caught 10 keepers for the day and approx 30 non-keepers. It was an Jewel football jig (5/8 oz.) fished on a deep drop that did the trick. Once they found the fish they stayed all day and caught them.
2nd Place - Randy Reehm/Richard Gay - 5 bass - 9.46 pounds - $450.00
They basically camped out in the narrows throwing jerkbaits for their limit. With the slow bite they were one of the fortunate ones to get their limit as well.
3rd Place - Mike Andrus/Joe Glover - 2 bass - 8.22 pounds - $260.00
They only had two but one was the days big bass (6.01 gorilla). With only two fish brought in it was the quality not quantity that that put them in third. One of their fish was caught on a jig and the other on a swim bait.
