Joey Brannon and Keeton Blaylock Win the Get5Bass Winter
Series Tournament on Lake Ouachita
Keeton Blaylock and Joey Brannon Win on Lake Ouachita!!!
Keeton Blaylock and Joey Brannon topped 25 teams fishing the third
Get5Bass Winter Series Tournament in the South Division by catching 5
bass that 18.13 pounds. Even though the weather was cold and the water
was up, weights went up considerably from the Winter Series Tournament
last month on Ouachita and eleven 5 bass limits were brought to the scales.
Here's how the top 3 teams caught their fish:
1st - Joey Brannon/Keeton Blaylock - 5 bass - 18.13 pounds - $820.00
Joey and Keeton concentrated their efforts in the upper and lower sections
of Lake Ouachita. They threw jigs around deep brush to catch their bass.
They commented that they fished about 10 brushpiles during the day, but
only a few produced fish. Their sack included the day's big bass, a 5.97
pound toad, which earned them an additional $125.00.
2nd - Don Brown/Larry Vaughn - 5 bass - 14.33 pounds - $535.00
Don and Larry commented that
the bite was tough for them, as they
only had 5 bites all day long. All of
their fish were caught on jigs.

3rd - Derwin Thomas - 5 bass - 14.09 pounds - $350.00
Derwin had a great day on the water.
He fished a jig (green pumpkin) in
the middle section of the lake to
catch his bass. Derwin caught
approximately 20 keepers on the day.

4th - Mark Hensiek/Mike Brower - 4 bass - 13.90 pounds - $200.00
5th - Adam Wright/Don Vining - 5 bass - 13.38 pounds - $120.00
6th - Jimmy Abernathy/Freddie McConnell - 5 bass - 13.22 pounds - $100.00
