Randy Allen and Wayne Dixon Win on Lake Dardanelle

Story by Terrance Narveson

The first
Get5Bass Summer Series Tournament was held Thursday night and
16 boats came out to get kicked the season kicked off. With it still getting
dark early most of the fish were caught before sun left its last light on the
horizon. Most teams struggled to get their bites during the short, three hour
event. High and dirty water also hampered the bite but a few teams
managed  to pull things together and get their 5-bass limits. Here's how the
top 3 teams caught their fish:

First Place - 17.53lbs - Wayne Dixon/Randy Allen

One bank in the Ouita area produced all of Randy and Waynes' bites. Their
fish were caught on a black/blue jig shallow.

Second Place- 16.33lbs - Tray Huddleston/Spencer Grace

Tray and Spencer made a little trip up the river and caught their fish on an
array of lures around wood structure. They had a lot of bites and managed to
cull 1 fish. They actually culled the wrong fish in the dark and it cost them
1stplace. This is one mistake they will probably not make again.

Third Place - 13.68lbs - Shawn Gordon/Zach King

Three fish for 13lbs wow! They had the right bites but could not get any
more in the boat. It was a shallow bite for them as well and they
fished all over the Bayou area. A Yum 4" Lizard (Junebug) produced all
their bites for the night.
