Jerry Watson and Tony Rankin Win Get5Bass Summer Series
Tournament on Lake Dardanelle
Jerry Watson and Tony Rankin topped 28 teams fishing the 5th Get5Bass
Summer Series Tournament of the year by catching 5 bass that tipped the
scales at 12.57 pounds. This week's tournament was brought to you by
Feltner's Althlete's Corner and Ridout Lumber. Thunder and numerous
lightning strikes forced most of the anglers off of the water by 8:30 PM, and
as a result only 2 limits were brought to the scales. Here's how the top 3
teams caught their fish:
1st - Jerry Watson and Tony Rankin - 5 bass - 12.57 pounds - $550.00
Jerry and Tony fished deep brushpiles to take the victory. They commented
that they had a limit before the storms hit and caught no keepers in the rain.
They threw Texas-rigged soft plastics (Worms) to catch their fish.
2nd - Spencer Grace and Jared Allen - 4 bass - 10.74 pounds - $300.00
Spence and Jared threw jigs (black/blue) and spinnerbaits (S.O.B. "Reehm
Dream") around wood in Dardanelle Bay to catch their fish. Their bag also
included the day's big bass, a 4.42 pound "Baby Cub" that earned them an
additional $100.00.
3rd - Dylan Hawkins and Tray Huddleston - 5 bass - 10.73 pounds - $175.00
Dylan and Tray caught their fish on Rapala DT Series Crankbaits around
main channel wood. Tray commented that the sensitivity of his Falcon Rod
was key to their overall performance.
