Brian Miller and Tom Phillips Win Get5Bass Summer Series
Tournament on Lake Dardanelle

Brian Miller and Tom Phillips topped 28 teams fishing the second Get5Bass Summer
Series Tournament of 2008 by catching 5 bass that weighed 16.65 pounds. With the
storms moving out it was a pleasant evening to be on the water. The tournament this
week was sponsored by Brangus Steak House. As the fish were brought in this
evening it seemed as though the fishing was tough on a lot of people or they were
using this as a final day of practice for the Lake Dardanelle Big Bass Classic this
weekend. Here's How the top 3 teams caught their fish:
1st Place - 16.65lbs - Brian Miller/Tom Phillips
They were throwing soft plastics in Deleware Bay area and caught a
bunch of fish before dark. As soon as the sun went down the bite shut off. They
had 8 keepers for the night.
2nd Place - 14.32lbs - Kris Lott/Joey Fisher
They were throwing crakbaits shallow around the grass and had trouble
getting bites while there was still light. They caught almost all their
fish after dark. They primarily stayed in the lower lake area.
3rd Place - 13.47lbs - Ron Reid/John Harris
Jigs, Jigs, Jigs. They were mid-lake fishing rocks with jigs and could
not get their 5th fish. All their fish were shallow along the rocks and
some grass.
Big Bass - 5.62lbs Caught by Blake Martin
Our next Summer Series Tournament will be May 8th, 6-9 at the Lake
Dardanelle State Park.
