Tournament on Lake Maumelle

    1st - Paul Browning, 2nd - Vern Rotruck, 3rd - Creighton Sawyer,
    Big Bass - Jeremy Belk

Story provided by Ron Belk

The FVBC traveled to Lake Maumelle , Saturday, March 27th, for our 3rd
tournament of the year.  We had 22 members fishing.  The water
temperature had dropped from 59 degrees to 54, but that didn't slow the
fish down much, if you found them.  There were 6 five fish limits brought
to the scales with 58 fish being weighed overall.  The total weight was
86.42 lbs.   Big Bass of the day was a 4.69 bruser caught by Jeremy Belk
on a swimbait, with a pay-out of $110.  Paul Browning took first place
with 9.28 lbs. and a check for $264, his fish were all caught on a jig off of
rocks.   Vern Rotruck took second with 8.59 lbs. and a check for $158.
He said his fish all came from the grass on a spinnerbait.  Creighton
Sawyer took 3rd, with 8.27 lbs and a check for $106.  Creighton wouldn't
give out his secret technique of catching his fish.  Overall it was a good
day fishing even with the lake wind advisory.
