RULES FOR DOG FIGHTS
To fish championship you must fish at least 7 tournaments
RULES FOR FRIDAY NIGHT DOG FIGHTS
1. All boats fishing Dog Fights must register & pay before launching.
2. All live wells will be checked prior to launching.
3. 2/10th a pound penalty for first dead fish and ½ pound for each dead fish thereafter. No dead
fish can be weighed for Big Bass.
4. Cannot pre-fish the same day of the tournament.
5. Must wear Coast Guard approved life vest while combustible engine is running & must have
working kill switch attached to the driver anytime the combustible engine is running.
6. No live bait, No Trolling!
7. Only one rod at a time may be used.
8. Dog Fights are a team format. Each team is allowed one alternate. Alternate must fish 7
tournaments if he/she is to be used in the championship.
9. No alcohol or Drugs prior to or during Tournament hours will be permitted (except for
prescriptions medication prescribed by a Doctor).
10. Any protest must be made 5 minutes after the scale’s close.
11. No fishing within 50 yards of another Tournament boat that is anchored with the trolling motor
up, unless permission is given or within any area designated by state or federal agencies as a no fishing
area (water intake).
12. The use of cell phones, two-way radios, CB’s & other means of communication will not be
permitted to locate fish or improve on catch during tournament hours.
13. Excellent sportsmanship is expected of everyone fishing, any unsportsmanlike conduct will be
means for disqualification with no refund.
14. Cheating will not be tolerated & if caught, that person will be barred from any future events &
disqualified for that tournament with no refund.
15. No boat may exceed the hp limitations set by the US Coast Guard in there ruling of November 1,
1972.
16. Any one that endangers themselves, another participant or by-stander will be disqualified.
17. Any contestant fishing in the 2011 Dog Fights must become a member & sign the waiver form.
ALL DECISIONS MADE BY TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS ARE FINAL.
18. There is a 13” to 16” slot limit. Length limit on largemouth is 12” to 13” and 16” and above.
Spotted Bass is 12”.
