Chip Hawkins and Glen Eastwood Win the Dumas Bass

Dumas Bass Club held an Open Tournament at Pendleton Saturday and
this was the winning sack !!! “Sack” is exactly what it was ….. Everyone
knows that this time of year at Dumas a 20 pound sack of fish just means
you showed up and in most cases will get you a top 5 ….. maybe ! Chip
Hawkins and Glen Eastwood showed why this is the case Saturday with
one of those “Dream Days” at Dumas. This impressive 5 fish sack
weighed 32.30 lbs and was anchored by a 7.75 lb “FAT GIRL” ! 4 of the 5
fish weighed were over the 7 lb mark with one at 5 lbs.
Hawkins said that they had 25 lbs before 9 am and then started covering
a lot of water to try and upgrade. Once they started moving they were
able to cull up to the final weight of 32+ lbs. This is an impressive day on
the water to say the least …… These days don’t happen often but if you’
ve fished Dumas you know the potential is there for one of these
“Dream Days”.
FYI 2nd place was 21 and some change.
