Roger Hackney Wins the Dumas Bass Club Classic on Morgan

The end of the 2010 season is officially over for the Dumas Bass Club, and
unlike most I actually finished the year with less than I started with! How
can you get a NEGATIVE points standing???? Who knows, I think my
Thursday night partner wanted to keep me outta his honey holes! The 2010
season was a pretty awesome season and there was a fight for first place the
whole year, and the final tie was broken at the classic for the overall high
points and Angler of the Year Title. The Dumas Bass Club has a two day
Classic, and first day, Mr. Roger Hackey topped the 17 anglers fishing and
weighed in a 5 fish limit of 15.71. I guess he decided to just go out and set
the bar pretty high. The first day also had a pretty high weight on the Big
Bass of the day, a 6.20 lb monster caught by Randy Fraser. The second day
of the derby brought the anglers to the Arkansas River where they were met
with high water and high flow which made the conditions extremely difficult.
However a few of the guys did not let these adverse conditions slow them
down. One of them was the first day leader, Mr. Roger Hackney, who
weighed in 4 fish for 11.54 bringing his two day total to 27.25 for the overall
Classic winner. Coming in second with a 5 fish limit of 10.17 was the second
place winner, Mr. Dwight Armstrong for a combined two day total of 18.50.
This two day weight help Dwight break the tie between him and Ricky
Cantrell for the Angler of the Year title. Finishing out the top 3 positions for
the Classic was George Watson with a combined weight of 16.84.
Congratulations to Mr. Roger Hackney (HACK Attack Sr.) on the 2010
Dumas Bass Club Classic win and congratulations to Mr. Dwight Armstrong
who topped it all off by taking the Angler of the Year Title.
The Dumas Bass Club would like to say thanks for all the anglers who
participated and showed good sportsmanship all year. We would also like to
say thank you to all the sponsors that donated to the 2010 Classic, without
your help and generosity we would not be able to make this event as great as
it has been. Thanks to all.
