Glen Eastwood and Ronnie Hartsfield Win the Dumas Bass Club Open Tournament on the Arkansas River
1st place and big bass
Story by Andy Case
With Dumas Bass Club having their first Thursday Nighter this week, everyone was pumped with the higher water and warm weather that was forecasted for Saturday. Much to everyone’s surprise, the river had dropped a bunch since Thursday. This sudden drop threw the old MONKEY WRENCH into the game plan. Oh yea, I forgot to mention there was another tournament going on, so this along with less water threw 2 MONKIES into the game plan. And from the looks of things a few teams kicked the MONKIES out and put some fish in the boat. Taking the first place position was Mr. Glen Eastwood SR and his partner Mr. Ronnie Hartsfield with 17.33. Mr. Ronnie was not available for the photo, Mr. Glen said he had to go home and ice down his arm and shoulder from winching in all those fish. Mr. Glen did take the time to tell us, it was just another day in the park for he and Mr. Ronnie, throw a “trap” and wench one in. Mr. Glen said all these fish were caught on a trap and they caught them in the Mouth!!! They had the TOAD for the day at 7.46.
2nd place - Andy Case and Steven Tew
With a 5 fish limit of 14.78, Steven Tew and Andy Case took the second place finish. To read about Andy and Tew's day, click here to read their "In the Boat" Column presented by Jewel Bait Company.
