Albert Wins Wal-mart BFL on Lake Dardanelle
Billy Albert with the BFL Trophy
Billy Albert of Russellville topped the field of 137 boaters fishing the Wal-Mart BFL
Tournament on Lake Dardanelle by catching 5 bass weighing 17-15. Billy is fishing
like a "man on fire", and this is his second consecutive major victory. Here is how
he caught his fish:
1st place - Billy Albert - 5 bass - 17-15
Billy Albert caught 5 weighing 17-15 to take 1st place
and the $4,600 prize.
Billy's day got off to a great start, he had his limit by 6:52 AM. He caught 8 keepers
throughout the day, and concentrated his efforts in the lower end of Dardanelle. All
of his keepers were caught on a topwater frog fished around pads.
2nd place - Matthew Mize - 5 bass - 17-03
Matthew Mize of Ben Lemond brought
5 bass to the scales weighing 17-03 to take
the second place prize of $2,326.00. He
caught his fish "all over the lake" using
primarily crankbaits. Although he finished
2nd, he said he was disappointed with his
finish because he lost two fish that he
estimated were in the 6 pound range.

Here are the top 5 boaters:
1st - Billy Albert 5 bass - 17-15

3rd - Mark Ellis 5 bass - 16-09
4th - David Davis 5 bass - 15-08
5th - Eddie Woody 5 bass - 15-07
1st place Co-Angler - Robert Percy - 5 bass - 12-02
Robert Percy JR., of Hot Springs, took home $2,288.00 for bringing 5 bass to the
scales weighing 12-12, enough to win the Co-angler side by 2 pounds. Robert gave
all the credit to his boater, Brian Head, saying that Brian had located a good school
of fish on the upper end of Dardanelle. Robert said they camped on that school all
day, and he caught his fish on a Zoom Speedworm.
