Parson Wins Central Pro-Am Association Tournament on
Lake Dardanelle

Nicky Parson of Farmington, Arkansas crushed the 62 boat field fishing the Central
Pro-Am Association Tournament on Lake Dardanelle this weekend. Parson
weighed 10 bass that pushed the scales at a whopping 41.32 pounds during the
2-day event. Parson fished a Bomber Fat Free Shad around main river channel
ledges, breaks and points to take the first place prize of $5,750.00. He caught his
fish from small isolated areas, and commented that if you could catch a bass from
these areas, "you could catch 15".
2nd place - Paul Helton - 30.79 pounds
Paul Helton of Russellville took the
2nd place prize of $3,800.00 (included
a $1,500 Ranger Cup bonus) by
catching 10 bass weighing 30.79 pounds.
He caught his fish on a Carolina-rigged
watermelon candy Zoom Brushhog and
a black/blue/purple jig tied by Chris
Johnson of Rogers, Arkansas

3rd place - Robert Robbins - 29.02 pounds
Robert Robbins of Branson, MO. took
3rd with 10 bass weighing 29.02 pounds.
Robert was disappointed he could not
catch fish around the grass in practice,
so he relocated to offshore structure. He
caught his fish during the tournament on
a Zoom Brushhog (watermelon and green
pumpkin) around offshore brush piles and
points in 10 feet of water or less. He
commented that he used 17 pound

4th place - Mark Fletcher - 28.82 pounds
Mark Fletcher of Russellville finished
4th with 10 bass weighing 28.82 pounds.
He commented that Sunday was tougher
than Saturday, and he was forced to fish
new areas to catch his limit. His fish
were caught around brush on Texas-
rigged plastic worms.

5th place - Chris Burgess - 26.75 pounds
Chris Burgess of Missouri took 5th
with 10 bass weighing 26.75 pounds.
He caught his fish on an 1/8 oz. Spot-
Remover jighead tipped with a 6-inch
Zoom Trick Worm (Green Pumpkin
Candy). Chris worked the worm
around main river channel swings. He
said maintaining contact with rocks
was critical.

1st place - Amateur - Andy Greek - 25.35 pounds
Andy Greek of Joplin, MO. won the
amateur division with 25.35 pounds. On
Saturday he was paired with Mike
Smith. He caught two bass swimming a
jig and the rest on a Carolina-rigged
brushhogs and lizards. On Sunday
he was paired with Ed Whitted, and
caught his fish on Carolina-rigged
brushhogs and finesse worms.
