John Higman Wins the Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza

John Higman Won the Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza with a 7.30 pound
"Giant" caught out of the Fort Smith Pool of the Arkansas River. He will
receive $100,000 for his efforts.

Here's how a couple of Sunday's hourly winners caught their big bass on
Lake Dardanelle:

1st Place - 9:00 AM (Sunday) - Keith Nolan - 6.97 pounds

Keith had a 6.97 pound "Green
Willow Monster" that he caught
upriver. He was catching fish all
three days on a special bait that he
would not disclose. All the fish were
coming out of a single location that

1st Place - 10:00 AM (Sunday) - David Snow - 7.15 pounds


David caught a 7.15 pound "Swamp
Baby" and was the overall Pool
winner. He was fishing Shoal bay
when he pulled up on a laydown with
a Buzzbait and caught this fish at

1st Place - 1:00 PM (Sunday) - Joey Fisher - 4.58 pounds

"Coach Fish" aka Joey Fisher
played the wait and see game, as he
brought his fish in early but waited
until the last hour to weigh it in. His
4.58 pounder ended up in the top spot
for the win in the last hour of the
event for Dardanelle Pool. He was
catching his fish in the brush with a

Here's how a couple of Saturday's hourly winners caught their big bass on
Lake Dardanelle:

1st Place - 11:00 AM (Saturday) - Brian Miller - 5.15 pounds

Brian stated that fishing slow has
been a key to his success. He cashed
2 checks on Friday, and his 5.15
pounder on Saturday makes it three.
He is throwing a big worm around
brushpiles and ledges located in

1st Place - 12:00 PM (Saturday) - Shawn Gordon - 4.72 pounds

Shawn is also fishing deep ledges and
is having great success. His 4.72
"baby cub" earned him 1st place
for the 12:00 PM hour and it was
his second check of the day. His
fish were caught on a Bomber
"Switchback" Shad Crankbait which
he purchased at Lefty's Gun and

2nd Place - 12:00 PM (Saturday) - Randy McLemore - 4.68 pounds

Randy caught this "Humpback" early on
a Black Neon Tube fished around stumps
